Safety and Environment renews commitment to Montijo
Eurosistra Portugal, Lda., through the Segurança e Ambiente brand, renewed, on May 11, its commitment to collaboration with the Municipality of Montijo.
At a time when road accident rates continue to rise, this partnership is particularly relevant, with the main objective of restoring road safety conditions after accidents, through the complete collection of solid and liquid waste resulting from road incidents.
This waste not only represents a risk factor for the occurrence of new accidents, but also a significant threat to the environment, making a rapid, specialized, and effective response essential.
The renewal of this partnership allows the Municipality of Montijo to continue benefiting from an integrated post-accident response service, which includes not only cleaning and decontamination operations on roads, but also specialized technical support, training, and crisis management.
For the Mayor of Montijo, Fernando Caria, this collaboration responds to real and growing needs in the municipality, marked by the presence of important road traffic arteries and by proximity to crossings of the Tagus River, factors that contribute to heavy traffic flows.
Since the partnership began in the municipality of Montijo, 447 interventions have already been carried out, with 8,727 kg/liters of waste from road incidents collected from public roads.
In the district of Setúbal, Segurança e Ambiente is currently operating in the municipalities of Alcochete, Almada, Barreiro, Moita, Montijo, Palmela, Seixal, and Sesimbra.
