The Municipality of Tondela formalized, on December 10, the partnership with Segurança e Ambiente aimed at improving the response to road accidents and reducing risks for drivers and the environment.

The collaboration focuses on post-accident intervention, ensuring the removal of solid and liquid waste from roads, an essential factor in quickly restoring road safety conditions and preventing new accidents.

The first operational meeting took place at Tondela Municipal Council on January 15, and was attended by Civil Protection, the Firefighters, the Public Security Police (PSP) and the National Republican Guard (GNR), marking the beginning of operational coordination between the entities involved.

This partnership, free of charge for the municipality, has as its main objective the restoration of road safety conditions after accidents, through the complete collection of solid and liquid waste resulting from road incidents. These residues constitute not only a risk factor for new accidents, but also a threat to the environment.

In the district of Viseu, Segurança e Ambiente already operates in the municipalities of Lamego, Resende, Mangualde, and Carregal do Sal, with Tondela now joining this network of municipalities.
